FAQs
Everything you need to know
What classes are best for Beginners?
We recommend starting with our Slow Flow classes, where you’ll learn the foundations of yoga, including pose names, alignment, and mindful movement.
You’re also very welcome to explore our Yin Yoga & Meditation and Restorative Yoga & Meditation classes, which offer a slower, more deeply relaxing approach.
What should I bring to class?
Just yourself! We provide everything you need for your yoga class (even tea and water). Mats, bolsters, blankets and even lavender eye-bags are all available for you to use, but you can BYO mat if you prefer.
What pass should I start with?
We offer two introductory passes to help you begin your yoga journey with us:
2 for $25 Intro Pass
Enjoy two classes for just $25, valid for 8 days from your first visit.
1 Month Unlimited Pass — $99
Come as often as you’d like for one month and build your yoga practice at your own pace.
Please note: you can choose one introductory offer per person.
Our full range of pricing options, including class packs, memberships, and unlimited passes, can be found here: www.flourishyoga.co.nz/pricing
What yoga classes are safe for pregnancy?
Congrats Mama to be! We have been running pregnancy yoga classes for well over 10 years and have accompanied thousands of mums to be on their pregnancy journey. Our pregnancy yoga class runs every Saturday 10.30am, but you’re also welcome to come to our slow flow classes.
You can read more about pregnancy yoga here. And after baby arrives? Join our baby-friendly Postnatal Yoga class
What are the best classes for de-stressing?
All of them! Really, it depends how you unwind. Do you need deep relaxation and physical rest? Our Restorative Yoga & Yin Yoga Classes are for you. If you are an ‘Active Relaxer” and like to move, then join Slow Flow, All Levels flow or a Dynamic Flow. Yoga helps us to let go of tension, lower our stress levels, improve our mobility and flexibility and feel calmer. Enjoy the physical and mental benefits of yoga in a way that suits you.
Where are you located?
First Floor, 5 Huron Street Takapuna.
Come up the stairs, make a right and you’ll see the white OM symbol on the door. There is plenty of parking in the nearby Shore City mall (first 2 hours free) and metered parking in surrounding streets. There is also a parking building on Huron Street.
Do you have changing rooms?
There are toilets on the landing with plenty of space to change if you are coming straight from work. If you can, we recommend arriving ready to flow. There is plenty of space to leave your belongings at the back of the studio. Come along 10 minutes before class for a cup of tea and to relax before your class.
Do I have to book online?
We keep our classes to a maximum of 13, so we encourage online bookings so that you do not miss out on a mat space. Head to our timetable page to book your place and we’ll have a mat set out for you when you arrive. We do not have a reception, so although we can take cash and debit card payments in the studio, we recommend booking online or on the Mind Body App.
Hopefully we’ve answered all your questions — now all that’s left is to roll out your mat. We can’t wait to welcome you to Flourish Yoga.
