Birth takes a woman’s deepest fears about herself and shows her that she is stronger than them.

Pregnancy is a beautiful, yet challenging journey. Yoga can be a great source of comfort to women throughout the different stages of pregnancy, bringing strength and inner balance during a time of immense change and uncertainty.

Pregnancy yoga is more than just teaching a safe sequence. It is about encouraging women to embrace the changes in their bodies throughout the trimesters, to give them confidence to listen to their own intuition, to help them practise acceptance of what is and for what is to be, and to empower them.

This training will cover:

~ The stages of pregnancy, what to expect and how this affects what is or isn’t accessible during a yoga class

~ Contraindications for each trimester and how to modify appropriately

~ Common pregnancy ailments to be aware of

~ How to modify a regular class for pregnant practitioners

~ How to structure and sequence a pregnancy yoga class

~ Using Yoga, Mediation & Breathwork as birth preparation.

~ The Postpartum phase and teaching postnatal yoga

~ Core & Pelvic Floor - we will have a women’s health physio as a guest speaker on this topic

We want every yoga teacher to be able to welcome pregnant yoginis with confidence to their classes and gain the knowledge needed to teach a safe and inclusive class.

Emma, mum to Louis and owner of Flourish Yoga has been teaching yoga & pilates and specialising in prenatal & postnatal yoga for the best part of 10 years. She has worked with hundreds of women in that time and is passionate about supporting women through their pregnancy and postpartum journey.
